Chris is a Director of two UK asset managers: Maunby Investment Management Services, a Private Client firm based in Harrogate and Trefoil Capital Advisers which was formed in 2018 to advise clients who invest principally in Alternatives, especially Hedge Funds. Chris was a Partner in Culross, a thematic investor in Hedge Funds between 1999 and 2016, a period in which Culross created and managed 3 award winning funds. Prior to that, he worked for over 20 years at the United Bank of Kuwait, a Kuwaiti owned UK Regulated bank active in Asset Management, Private Banking, Islamic Finance, Real Estate and Trade Finance, serving as CEO between 1985 and 1998. He holds a BSc degree from the London School of Economics and an FCCA qualification.

Paul Regan is a retired Methodist Minister based in Newham where he has lived since 1972. He is chair of the Social Responsibility Commission of the Methodist London District.

He is a founder member of London Citizens and chair of CitizensUK. Paul is a member of the Advisory Council of the Living Wage Foundation. He also chairs the board of the East London Community Land Trust.

Noor is a chartered accountant by profession. He is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He brings with him wide-ranging experience of financial management having trained with Grant Thornton in London and then working with KPMG specialising in the audit of Banking, Insurance and Asset Management sectors. He has also worked with BlackRock as a technical specialist in the group’s financial reporting division. Noor is also serving as head of internal audit for Humanity First, an international disaster relief charity.”

Alex is a chartered accountant, having qualified with Deloitte in London. He is currently head of risk and control assurance at RELX group, a global provider of information and analytics for professional and business customers across industries.

He is also a trustee at Futureversity, a young people’s education charity based in Tower hamlets.

Rehan is a Financial Services professional with more than 10 years’ experience in Investment Banking working on roles ranging from Project Management, Derivatives Product Management and Trading technology solutions.

Mahendra Savjani is a retired headteacher. He taught for 23 years in inner city London schools before taking up the headship of an all age independent faith school. He has served as a governor of a secondary school and as an executive councillor for ISA (Independent Schools Association).

Jo is a Community Doctor working in the NHS with children and young people in East London. In her free time she also leads a music band at church, enjoys thinking about math problems, loves to doodle, and relishes time in the great outdoors.

Jeremy Fraser is a social worker at Maudsley and St Thomas’ Hosptials in south London. He was an Elected Councillor in Southwark between the years 1986-1998. He has had various roles including Leader. He has his own PR company which was established in 1998. He was ordained in 2008 by the Church of England and is currently Mission and Development Advisor to Bishop Peter. He lives in Plaistow with his partner and has two adult children who live in south London.

Emily Miles is a project manager, facilitator and most recently a PhD researcher at University College London (UCL). Emily’s background is in leadership and organisational development in the healthcare and development sectors, with a focus on supporting women in leadership. Working for the NHS Leadership Academy, she oversaw the development and training of NHS staff, as well as the Academy’s business management and communications. Emily is a passionate believer in the importance of social equality and in creating environments where everyone can thrive.

Ash Khan is a Legal Counsel and a solicitor currently with a privately-owned investment firm focused on opportunistic investing across real estate, private equity and special situations.  He is specialised in property (leases, commercial and residential development, acquisitions). Prior to joining Faro, Ash worked in-house with JP Morgan on a Brexit delivery project before becoming interim General Counsel for an high-net worth family concerning their residential and commercial property portfolio. During his career in private practice, Ash assisted with property purchases, lease management and regearings, and pre-let agreements for sites for largely acquisitive clients such as venture capital firms and developers, across a wide range of sectors including residential development, retail, leisure and industrial property. He holds an LLB from Kings College London and an LLM in International Business Law from University College London.

Asif is an executive manager for a not-for-profit organisation based in Newham that provides services to the education sector. Within his role, he is responsible for the strategic direction of the business, partnerships and joint ventures. His role is also responsible for ICT, Data Compliance and School Support services. Asif pioneered moving Newham schools to cloud-based technologies from 2016 onwards paving the way for effective online learning. In 2020, he successfully launched a health and safety service utilising a technology platform through a partner organisation. Asif joined The Education Space from Islington council in 2016 and has held technology leadership roles within public and private organisations for over 15 years. Asif spent his childhood years living and going to school in the Forest Gate area. His current role working with schools within Newham provides an opportunity to collaborate further on community initiatives and build long-lasting partnerships with Aston Mansfield.
